The conference was initiated and led by the Principal of our school, Mr. Piotr Popielarczyk, who has been passionately involved in the development of the facility and building international cooperation for years. Thanks to the commitment of the Principal and the entire school community, we are opening new opportunities for students, teachers, and partners from abroad. Each such event is another step towards modern education and building relationships that cross state borders.
1st International Agricultural Conference at the Stanisław Staszic Agricultural Education Center Complex of Schools in Swarożyn: Innovations and Cooperation for the Development of the Agricultural Sector.
On November , 2024, the 1st International Agricultural Conference was held, which brought together representatives of the agricultural industry, scientists from renowned universities and experts in the field of technology. The event aimed to exchange experiences, present modern solutions in agriculture and establish international cooperation in the field of research and education.
Special guests, interdisciplinary topics and exchange of experiences
One of the most anticipated speakers at the conference was Dr. Ercüment Aksoy from Turkey – President of the Spatial Information Society and a long-time lecturer at Akdeniz University. Dr. Aksoy, who has specialized in technical sciences since 1995, presented topics related to modern technologies in agriculture, including the use of satellite data and drones for environmental monitoring.
– Open sources of information, including satellite data, open up opportunities for agriculture that seemed like science fiction just a few years ago – emphasized Dr. Aksoy. – Thanks to the right tools, such as drones measuring air pollution, we can analyze environmental conditions in real time, which significantly affects crop efficiency and environmental protection.
Dr. Aksoy, as the founder of AIR3DMAP, presented practical examples of the use of drones in agriculture, emphasizing their use not only in monitoring pollution, but also in terrain mapping and crop analysis. Additionally, he talked about his cooperation with educational institutions, such as Aksu Aircraft Technology MTL, where he acts as an academic consultant, and about Erasmus+ projects that promote international knowledge exchange in the field of Earth observation.
International cooperation in school practice
Marta Gulgowska, coordinator of international projects, also spoke at the conference. In her speech, she focused on the importance of exchanging experiences and practices between educational institutions from different countries. She discussed her team’s successes in organizing trips abroad for students and teachers, which support the development of professional competences and promote a modern approach to education.
“Our international projects are not only trips, but above all a chance to understand how important cooperation is in the global world. Together we can develop innovations that change the future of agriculture and vocational education,” emphasized Marta Gulgowska.
New technologies in the service of agriculture
The conference was an excellent opportunity to present an interdisciplinary approach to the problems faced by modern agriculture. The lectures showed how important it is to integrate technical, scientific and practical knowledge.
The event organizers have already announced another edition of the conference, which is to take place next year. The interest from participants, including representatives of the agricultural and academic sectors, proves that international cooperation and an innovative approach to education and research are key to the development of the industry.
